Tell us a fun fact about you I don't know! I'm a pretty good ping pong player?

How did you get into illustration? Probably because of my grampa! He used to draw on anything he could, he inspired me to start doodling and trying to make art myself.

Who or what inspires you the most? I'm very inspired by trying new things that I know I'm not that great at. I like the challenge, and I feel like I learn a lot with every attempt. Other than that, there are too many artists that I'm inspired by. Check out my Instagram follows for some of my favourites!

What does a typical day look like for you? A typical day is 8 hours of art directing at Giant Ant, helping create cool videos for really cool clients; then cooking with my wife; then drawing a bit more or going for a walk or watching a movie. But, since my wife is also an illustrator, we find ourselves starting new personal projects every other week.

What do you do when you have a creative block? I try to do something new, that I know I'm not that good at. Something like sculpture, photography... It's usually enough of a break to get me excited to paint again.

Top three clients you've worked with? MTV, Costa del Mar Sunglasses, and CNN.

What tools (digital or not!) do you use to create your work? Usually just Photoshop and Illustrator. Sometimes I'll use Maya if I need a 3D reference.

What's your favourite resource for inspiration? These days, probably Instagram. It just seems to be where my favourite illustrators are most active.

Do you have any tips for artists thinking of doing freelance? Do a lot of personal projects. It's great to get you inspired and it creates a portfolio in exactly the kind of projects you want to be doing.

What would your dream project be? A huge collaboration with all of my favourite artists and animators. Probably a short film!

How can fans keep up-to-date with your work? Instagram
