I don’t shave my armpits!
I started drawing with my brother when we were both young, he got into football but I kept going. During my teenage years I entered loads of drawing competitions, which kinda cemented the idea of art as a career.
Though I do take a lot of inspo from popular culture and packaging aesthetically, I find what I’m surround by on the day-to-day is what feeds mostly into my work. So, as I’ve got 3 kids, there’s the influence of cartoons and a fun, playful side. But sometimes its just the conversations I’m having or what I’m doing in that moment that spark a thought.
The great thing about my work is no two days are usually the same – I can be illustrating from home one day, then building props the next. I do have a structure to the day, which is mainly to fit around my 3 kids. So in the morning I’ll respond to emails, then onto the job in hand. I usually work through lunch when I’m absorbed in what I’m doing and then have a break at 2.30-3.30 to pick up the 2 younger kids from school, which gives me a quick refresh! Sometimes if it’s a quiet day, I’ll stop there, other days I’ll carry on till 5/6 until everyone’s home for dinner. After the kids are in bed, I’ll sometimes pick up work again. Depending on the job, working of a night can be amazingly productive and there’s nights where I forget the time and stay up till the wee hours.
I think taking a break and do something different for a bit if I can is vital! Though one thing I’ve noticed during busy periods is just to change up tasks, so I’m still getting through my workload – so if I have a creative block I’ll pack orders for a few hours and try again.

I’m gonna expand on what my dad’s mantra was and say ‘DO WHAT YOU LOVE, WORK HARD AND BE NICE TO PEOPLE’ this is the best advice I can give – at a push I’d add ‘GET GOOD AT COPING BRILLIANTLY WITH VERY LITTLE SLEEP!’ but that’s more of a mum thing.
I’d love to design some apparel and bedding! I’d love to create some immersive spaces too, and see how my work could possibly translate in a physical space. Hmmm, there’s too much fit fit in tbh… the dream is that I’m able to keep on creating without restraint, in a nutshell.

Recently, I became a mom to a handsome 11-months old Border Collie mix. He’s such a good boy.
I love drawing and art at a very young age. I didn’t go to art school but I always pick up a pencil to sketch on something. I work in graphic design and art direction so that skill comes in handy. I started to explore hand-lettering couple years ago. Now it becomes part of my day.
Nature. Traveling. Putting myself in other cultures.
With a coffee cup in hand, I’m usually at my desk by 9 am. I work from home so I can sit here all day long. Though I try to break up my day by walking the dog or getting up to grab snacks/water.
I try to get some inspirations from other artists on IG or by flipping through design magazines. Other times, I just walk away from it.

Currently I’m a full-time employee but I freelanced for years. Freelance doesn’t mean ‘free’ or low-cost service so know your worth and manage your time. Also, you only want to work with someone who wants to work with you. It’s ok to say no.
Seeing my work on print ads, packagings or billboards somewhere.

I´m addicted to asian food, chocolate, trench-coats, Frank Ccean, Sampha and James Blake, my sneakers, books, art, breakfast, grocery shopping and I‘m leaving a crumb trail!
I was always painting and drawing so it seemed like a logic career path to me.
Plants and flowers of course but traveling and my every day surroundings are always a great way to get inspired!
Starting with a great breakfast afterwards checking and answering emails, and working and preparing orders. Painting in the afternoon and working on Instagram in the evening.
Just stop forcing it and try to use the time to meet friends and have long walks!
Recently I did flowers for a big company which I really enjoyed creating. Winning a design contest to have a textile design with Urban Outfitters was amazing when I started out, or I also enjoyed creating an entire print collection for a local surfwear company!
