Lucía is a Spanish illustrator addicted to lettering. She loves trying different styles and to use vibrant colours for her letters to stand out. Sushi and rock’n’roll lover, she usually finds inspiration in cats, cartoons or even while sleeping.
I love to take "little" naps with my pets on weekends!
I love to draw since I was a child. I couldn't stop doodling my homework so the teacher go angry very often! Then, I kept studying Advertising and Public Relations at university and that took me to a Graphic Design Degree. I finally got back to my childhood when I realised I was focusing on Illustration.
I usually find inspiration in tv cartoons like Steven Universe or Adventure Time because of the pastel lovely colours and illustrated scenarios they have. Also, there're some movie credits that look amazing and inspire me a lot. I always have some artist in mind when I work, like Lauren Hom, Martina Flor or Mary Kate McDevitt. They are powerful women and that encourages me to keep working!
I'd love to have lettering as full-time job, but that's not possible yet. So, my regular days are going to the office and have many ideas on my mind. Then, I get back to home, some pet cuddling and back to lettering work again! It's hard but it worths the effort.
At first I get nervous and grumpy! Then, I go for a walk, cinema or a cold beer with friends.

I use many tools! I love experimenting and try different styles and materials. My top 3 of tools are iPad Pro, acrylic paint and watercolour pencils.
I absolutely love Pinterest to find inspiration, because you can find many different things and themes there. Since art until yummy food and also colour schemes or inspiring tattoo designs!
I guess the main thought to have in mind when you want something (whatever it is) is hard working. You can want anything but you won't get it without mountains of hard work in your back. Believe in yourself and not comparing is super important too!
My dream project is to have my own lettering business as full-time job of course, and focus all my strength only on it how it deserves.
